Renault Clio steering

Car: Renault Clio
Model Year: 1996
Categories: Steering, Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres
Hi everyone, got an unusual problem with the steering, when the car is switched off i can move the steering wheel and with the the slightest movement the road wheels respond, when i drive the car there is no pulling from either side and the car keeps a straight line but if i take my hands off the steering the steering wheel slowly turns to the right to about five or ten past twelve but the funny thing is that the car carries on in a straight line, i can tell you i've been scratching my head over this one, any help would be much appreciated, regards Garry.

Possible sounds like steering wheel alignment is slightly out of spec, would advise getting the tracking checked and set. Places that quote 4 wheel alignment should be able to do it. The front wheels can be spot on but if the front to rear alignment is out this usually results in car driving perfectly straight but with steering wheel not in the straight ahead position (in bad cases vehicle will crab down the road). If the tracking is spot on could try swopping front wheels across to see if it makes a difference
