Renault Clio power steering becomes heavy and speedometer cuts out

I am having the exact same problem. Was a fix found for this issue?

Very intermittent problem, that is impossible to replicate. I just took it in to an auto electrical and they found nothing wrong and couldn't reproduce the issue.

Randomly while driving the speedometer needle drops to zero and the steering goes heavy like there's loss to power steering. While this happens, on low revs and speeds the engine also sounds like it wants to seize, causing the gear stick to rattle. After a few km or a turn or two, the speedometer needle then just pops back to normal, power steering returns and things carry on like there's nothing wrong. It can come back quickly or not return for another few days. Very frustrating to diagnose as it of course is always fine when a mechanic looks at it.

LOAD test your battery and alternator , checking both voltage readings
