First of all I would check , open / shut all doors and bonnet and see if it clears fault before getting too involved . With cold , icy weather it can sometimes cause sticking in lock assemblies and fool lock control one may not be operating as it should .

Hi
Following your advice I checked and opened and closed all doors and bonnet and there it was with the bonnet opened I could see straight away that the switch under the bonnet has become loose due to a broken plastic holding it I managed to put it back provisionally.
Closed the bonnet locked the van and it worked perfectly with the indicators flashing on opening and closing the doors , so thanks for your help and advice and I am glad to have joined this forum

Glad you got it fixed , bonnet switches are often a part that fail / break . Thank you for updating the forum
