Engine management system warnings come on intermittently on start-up (STOP. Do not drive) and the car goes into 'limp' or 'get you home' mode. After leaving for a while (2 hours) it resets and the car drives normally.

It's not advisable to ignore , especially when the car goes into limp mode and you get that message . Would suggest you get it scanned for any stored fault codes with suitable equipment at earliest convenience

Many thanks for your reply. I have had the Peugeot main agent investigate this fault several times over the past 18 months - diagnosis, clear the logged faults and reset but it keeps reoccurring. They seem unable to resolve it. Ideally I need a specialist to have a look.

It seems strange if they only clear the codes without rectifying what has triggered them and inevitable recurring of same . But hard to say without knowing what codes .
