firstly you need to cdouble check that you have the correct spec bulbs fitted eg single or double filament, remove the bulb holder and make sure the circuit is not corroded or the lamp is not filled with water causing the circuit to short across,if that is all ok then pull the connector off and check you are getting a feed down each wire when the corresponding light is activated eg - feed to brake bulb when brakes applied, feed to indicators when indicator operated etc

you need two new bulb holders for modified earth cables each side and a new connector and a couple of connector pins. you will notice the existing connector has probably melted slightly.

Guys I have a similar problem with a 407 SW est that I bought last week. Firstly it showed a problem with the ABS & ESP. €208 later after having 2 X ABS Sensors fitted to the rear on Friday last, I now have the warning re faulty Indicators and L/H rear Stop light. Can you please expand a little on your fix. (On Sat both the ESP and ABS lights came on in the Dash, stayed on for the remainder of my journey, circa 10mins, did not come on when I restarted the Car and have not come on since. I wonder now did I need to spend the €208 at all)

Brian. I had the same problem with my 407. I took off the L/H rear Lamp and found that the Brake / Side Light bulb was not twisted into position fully. I inserted / twisted it fully into position last Friday and have not got the bulb faulty warning message since. I get the ABS / ESP faulty message sometimes but when I re-start the Car it dissapears.

Need to add an earth wire to your tailamps. Put an earth wire on each side of the tailamp. Earth wire is a wire from from tailamp to your car's body. This will solve your problem.
