Peugeot 407 windscreen wipers

Can anyone please help. I have an intermittent fault on my wipers. when the air temperature outside drops the wipers don't work. they are not frozen to the windscreen and the electrical displays says they are working. I was driving to work this morning and the wipers were working then about 15 mins in to my journey they just stopped mid cycle. after half an hour I went out to have a look at them and they are working again. I have had 2 garages look at them and both said they cant find a problem. This has been going on for a while now and as it is an intermittent fault its hard to trace. has anyone come across this or have a clue what could be the cause. thanks again merry Christmas to you all.

I'm wondering if either garage ran a Peugeot Planet diagnostic scan?
Which ought to pick up any faults with the "Comms" unit.
which is the part that controls wipers/indicators etc,

I cant be sure of this but the garage said they done a full check and no faults were showing regarding the wipers. They cleared a couple from previous brake light issue that I resolved. as it happens when the temperature is cold I did think is the actual wiper motor frozen but this seems to move freely by hand. but thanks for getting back to me

Given that my next step would be to check the amperage trace pattern on an oscilloscope.
easy test if you have the equipment and usually conclusive.
The difference in patterns between a good motor and a bad one are self evident.
I had an S type jag in a few months back with exactly the same symptoms,
'Scoped it to find the motor drawing way to much current,
The motor was actually OK but the wiper arm spindles were seized solid so the motor was fighting to move them,
So excess current excess heat and this tripped the motor until it all cooled down.
As stated the 'scope will show up any internal motor faults.

I would check the left motor out first as it is the slave with the right being the master. If there is a problem with the left one the slave will stop them both from working. it could be a data problem even and a simple recalibration may be the awnser I would look for signs of water in the connectors as well.
