Peugeot 406 engine jerking while in motion

the vehicle while in motion is jerking experienceing loss of power and have changed the fuel filter but the problem is persisting . feels like it wants to stop or something and no matter how hard you step on the accelerator to increase speed the problem is ther then it disappears after awhile

Lots of possible causes of engine misfiring . Common fault is coil packs , but only guessing as you don't say size / type of engine ( petrol / diesel )

could be coil pack or plugs if petrol

hello guyz.

Thanks for the advice and do appreaciate. In follow up to my earlier querry MY CARS SPECIFICATIONS ARE AS FOLLOWS;

Model ..... 1.8
Engine....... EW7 J4 petrol
CC............ 1749
Year.......... 1999

kindly let me hear from you further on the issue. The car is not mis firing just experiencing jerking sensation for some few seconds or a minute as if its lacking fuel or the flow is not complete and which cause loss of power. i am afraid i may end up stalling on the raod and need to fix the problem soon.

help me out guyz
