A spanner sign with nubers preceeding it keep showing on the dash board immediately above the mileage dictator. What do I do? Also when I turn the ignition on it shows a STOP but once the engine is on it goes off. Hope it is not a challenge? Pls somebody with an idea pls help. Thanks berryfield

The spanner indicates service interval. If the numbers with it are decreasing this shows how many miles you have until the next service is due. If the numbers are increasing that is the number of miles it has done since it was last serviced.
The STOP is a warning. It goes off when there are no problems but if you try pulling away with say a door open it will come on to warn you.
If this light comes on while you are driving it means there is a mechanical problem and to continue driving would cause further damage to the engine.

I have rectified the issue I posted. As soon as I serviced the car by changing the oil and oil seal then resetted the timer the spanner icon disappeared since then. Thanks for candid contribuction
