Peugeot 406 electronic immobiliser warning light

Car: Peugeot 406
Variant: HDi
Model Year: 1999
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Car going fine yesterday - but won't start today! Electronic Immobiliser Warning light appeared as the engine turned over but didn't fire.
Have done the "windows re-boot" thing & disconnected battery & re-connected but problem still there.
Is this a Peugeot dealer to fix - or is there a more economic solution?
