Peugeot 308 engine vibration

Car: Peugeot 308
Variant: 1.6 hdi sport 6 speed
Model Year: 2008
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Hi there I have had this vehicle for a month now and noticed an engine vibration when you start up and shut down as if the engine is knocking against something when both starting up and shutting down.Had it back to my local Peugeot dealer and been informed it is normal for 2008 model, asked if there was a modified mounting was told they just put a special grease on the mounting and let it stand for four hours to set,I have never heard such rubbish I would have thought the grease would just soffen the rubber and make it worse,Has any body suffered this problem.Would welcome your comments.Regards Yorkie.

Let them try the "cure " which means they acknowledge it's a problem , and then sling it back if still the same for fixing .

I have been told by Peugeot technician that the knock on my vehicle ie while starting up and shutting down is the generic flywheel which is fitted to the car is normal, can anyone verify this, as if it is faulty I would like to get it done while still in warranty. The vehicle has done 20000 miles, and I have only had it a month.

I bought my Peugeot 308 1.6 HDI from David hayton May 2011, at 15,000 miles on the clock their was a knocking from the engine bay on start up and shut down. A little peeved that i was not informed of this when i signed on the dotted line. I was told the knocking was normal for the 308. But persisted and eventually they looked at the problem.
The problem is the gearbox mount, this mount was replaced on my car and the knocking has gone completely and the engine feels tighter.
Thanks David Hayton..
