Peugeot 308 aircon failure

Aircon has stopped working - yet to bet it in to the maindealer but already he says it will be expensive and that it needs servicing every two years anyway. I think apparently losing all gas inside two years is not acceptable.
Only 21 months old and 26000 miles but it uses the new E1234yf gas which is very expensive. (30p/gram? - I cannot find out the charge weight)
I have a halogen gas "sniffer" which detected nothing under the engine bay but went mad when put in front of the interior vents with fan on and after standing all night. Evaporator leak?
need ammunition for when i do get it in to them. Thanks

When you have the air con on, and you can hear a whooshing noise in the cabin, this us due to early cars 2014/2015 suffering from compressor failure. This faulty compressor issue is covered under warranty and as it affects the air con gas leaking though corrosion, the gas will be recharged under warranty also. Take it to another dealer and explain thieves a service bulletin from Peugeot about this issue.
