The hand book says that the fan fuses need to be changed by a dealer but surely the average home mechanic could do this, if I could find where they are located?!!
Well if I could find where the fuses are I could check the one feeding the slow speed setting and then go from there.

So does anyone have any idea where these fuses are located?

Thanks in advance

hi and welcome to the forum

The fuse box is located behind the nearside head lamp.

The Problem

My car engine has been over heating. I found that one of my fuses was missing completely so i replaced it and the fan worked!
Unfortunately the problem has returned less than a month later and when i checked the fuse it was fine.
The only thing i can think is that it was pot luck that the fan started working again.
I've trawled the internet for hours and people keep talking about a 'radiator fan switch'.
I have no idea what this looks like and would appreciate someone telling me where it is :)
This is my last hope before I have to pay a garage to inspect it!!!!

Might be wrong but I think the temperature sensor is on the end of the engine block. Looking from the front of the car on the right hand side - below the head.Either a 19mm or 21mm spanner to remove . If not , on some cars it's on thermostat housing .

This seems to confirm location of switch,

" Peugeot 307 cooling fan problem.

The fan is activated by a thermo switch screwed into the cylinder block’s water jacket. "

Simple and cheap 2 min job to replace switch .Just remember to change when engine cold or you might get scalded with water .Disconnect wiring / plug , unscrew and fit new switch .

Hope this helps you .

you may have a fault with your fan resistor.does the fan come on when you switch the airconditioning on?

Have you had a look at this similar problem: rad fan not working

Check wiring to engine temp coolant sensor and any wiring / earths removed or disturbed when clutch replaced .

My vehicle has just started to give the warning engine too hot switch off engine.
This only happens when I am on the slow approach home after leaving the main road. If I put the air con on the electric fan comes on and this situation is avoided. I think the temperature sensor may be the problem. There is another electronic sensor attached to the top of the rad right side when looking at the car from the front, could this unit cause problems
Another consideration is could there be an air lock as the engine coolant was changed recently, if so how can you remove the air lock. Thanks
