when your accelerating fast threw the gears and you change up into 3rd at about 5000rpm or say your cruising in 5th on the motorway and you boot it , the revs will cut out you loose them , then if you release the accelerator and bring it back on slowerly its ok ? anyone got any ideas what it could be ?

are you getting any warning lights up on the dash,if so what fault codes are stored, could be a faulty throttle position sensor or mass air flow sensor,is the engine misfiring or running lumpy at any time the fault occurs?

If you are losing power, rather than revs when you boot it , and it comes back when you ease off , Slipping clutch ??
