Peugeot 307 steering wheel wobble

Car: Peugeot 307
Variant: HDi S 110
Model Year: 2007
Categories: Steering, Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres
When going 60-70+ MPH my steering wheel wobbles, sometimes a lot worse on inferior road surfaces.

Have had my wheels re-balanced 3 times by kwik fit but that didn't fix it. When my car recently went in for its annual service with Peugeot, I asked them, they said it was the wheel balancing, and they have redone that. It has slightly cured problem but the wheel wobble is still there

I know my brake pads and discs need replacing in 3-4k. Could it be anything to do with that?

I'm at a loss as to what it could be. Any help would be appreciated, thanks

Pads and discs wont cause steering wobble .You shouldn't need tyres balanced that amount of times .If done correctly once is enough unless there is something causing excessive tyre wear .Check all tyres for twists / bulges uneven wear .Check road wheels for buckles / run out .Could also try fitting rear wheels to front and see if any difference .If still having probs ,get steering , suspension , bushes , springs , s/absorbers checked for wear .

Spinning tyres 180 degrees on rim can often cure the wobble and reduce the amount of weight required to balance them

If a tyre is out of balance it doesn't matter if you spin it 180 degrees , it will still be out of balance .Only difference is it will require weight repositioned to counteract change of position. If anything could even make vibration worse , certainly won't cure it . On top of that , to move tyre you would have to break the bead on both sides of rim and then reseal and inflate . Why you would wan't to do that instead of getting it properly balanced , beats me.

I have the same car/model/year and the same problem, and the garage has informed me that it is a buckled rim,and have sourced me a replacement set- we will see if it cures it!!!!
