Peugeot 307 cd player not connected to the ignition

Car: Peugeot 307
Variant: 1.4 Petrol
Model Year: 2002
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Hi, I replaced the cd player and it would not turn off when the engine is off(it will stay on after the ignition key is out). when i turn the engine on, the radio goes back to the default settings. It doesn't remember the last song played or sound settings i put. I was told that the cables are cross connected. Is there something I can do to fix those problems?
thanks for your help.

Yes swap the two wires.

You will usually have a permanent live, usually thick red ,for radio memory
And usually a yellow or thin red for switched live to turn the radio on and off when key is turned.

I know some cars have these two wires opposite. Simple fix, work out which is which and swap them round!

is it a compatible set.

By purchasing a model specific iso adapter lead any iso std radio will fit. Only difference is the two power wires. That's the only thing I have ever come across. Obviously the newer separate screen and fitted radios I don't touch as they are coded and specific to the car

the vehicle has multiplexing and needs to communicate with the multi function display also the radios may look the same but will only be compatible with the same model. It may not be the connector but the software version in the multifunction display.

Yes, that's what I said. Radios with seperate screens. But I doubt this o.p is using this type of radio unit, he/she is simply having issues with the two power wires the wrong way round....

I tried switching two cable around, yellow and the green from bottom left, turns out green wasn't supplying any power. It was just the yellow and because I switched the cables, the radio didnt turn on at all with or without key so yellow wire back where it was and didnt even connect the green one back where it originally was, the radio started working as it was and still works without the key in.
There is just 5 pins in bottom connector where power gets supplied, the top connector has bunch of pins and I presume they are the speaker connection and the memory.

Looks like you have lost your accessory power, if the yellow is permanent live. Strange its green tho, is there any others hiding somewhere red, white trace maybe.
Otherwise you will have to draw another switched power from somewhere.
What else is live with the key on ciggy lighter or something?

Hi Tony, I have given up on the radio. The latest problem is the reverse light, the left bulb lights up but the right one doesn't. I switched the bulbs around and it was still the same, so both bulbs are OK. I presume if one bulb is lighting up then it's not the fuse or the reverse light switch.

In case it's fuse then where should the fuse be. There is a fusebox under the bonnet, there is a small one in glovebox and and there is a radio sized device under the glovebox, which also has bunch of fuses on it.
Please advise me what should I do.

thanks very much.

Unsure of where or what fuze it would use tbh, but if one bulb is working then the circuit is ok,
There must be a break in the wire or a dirty connection in the offending light cluster.
