My radio only works intermittently and I can also hear the CD drive working even when there is no CD in the player. Also when I turn the radio on in any mode i.e. with ignition on or off a sort of alarm bleep starts which seems to be coming from behind the steering wheel area. Is my radio probably defunct and is the bleeping alarm purely coincidental.

it might want re-codeing try an audio specialist or your dealer
