unfortunately to access the matrix you need to remove the dashboard.is it definately coolant in the footwel? make sure it isnt a/c drainoff if you have a/c and also check door membrane that side for failure, if leak isnt too bad it may be worth trying some sort of coolant system sealer.

hi im new to this site today i think i may have the answer you need my son drives a 1.6 glx 307 he had this same problem it took me a month to find it but when i did it was a 30 minute job to fix .
(first) remove the carpet under the glove box this gives you the acses to where you need to be it is done by removing four rubber clips
(second)stick your head in the foot well and look to the front of the engine and up to where the gear box is under the dash there you will see a plastic pipe with a bend in it its not flexi you should see that there is a flange on it. with two or three screws on it this is the problem .in side this flange there is two rubber o rings and what happens is they either perish or just fail peugeot will not sell you these rubbers on there owen they want to sell you the plastic elbow as well and its dear. my solution was to seal it with hermotite water gasket sealer .
(first just try tightening the little screws as they do come loose . if that dose not work then take the pipe off smear the two rubber rings with gasgit sealer put back together job done . i lifted my floor carpet up took out the foam noise instilation and dried it all out have had no problem since . one more thing this pipe is attached to the heater matrix that is why you can smell anti freez in your car also if you rub your hand on the carpet you will find it dries sticky on your hand .by unscrewing this elbow bend you can slide the matrix strait out and hoover out any dust or leaves that are in there it sounds a long job but even if you do it all it takes no more than a hour.
(best of luck and hope this is of help to some one out there

Hi Dad Knows Best
How did you get the plastic pipe out of the heater matrix after undoing the retaining screws and did it loose a lot of water? Dose the pipe just push up and out of the matrix? And if so did you have to refill the coolant system?
Thanking you in advance

I have checked the coolant level and its full there is still pink fluid in the passenger foot well towards the seat side so it can't be the heater matrix. What else could it be? Any ideas

Hi, I seem to have the same problem. Fluid in my footwell smells like oil. Did you ever find out what the problem was?

Hi I have the same problem I think
Water level dropped then carpet wet passenger side
If we try what the previous person put to lift the carpet tighten screws or put sealant on o rings
If we take the pipe off will all the water come out ?
We will try coolant sealer first
Do we have to take the dashboard off still or not
