Hi Neil I hope you are well . Do you have access to a diagnostic scan tool ?
Customer
No

Ok this is the first step . The sensors I. The thermostat housing are very common to fail causing the issues you are experiencing
Customer
Ok I thought it sounded like potentially a temperature sensor fault- would this bring up the engine management light and put the car in limp mode without causing the temperature gauge to go up

it’s actually quite common . It requires complete thermostat housing replacement to cure and a modified piece of wiring loom
Customer
Eat replacement ? Any idea of cost ?
Customer
Easy replacement ? Sorry

Average cost is around £250 . Around 1 hours labour to replace
Customer
Problem I've got is the problem goes away for 4 or 5 weeks then it comes back which is a problem because it's gonna start getting expensive if it's not that ! Would peugeot be able to diagnose confidently

If it’s been in limpMode a fault relating to this will be stored
Customer
It has been in limp mode a friend of mine plugged their diagnostics tool in but no faults were logged I assume Peugeot's would be a more powerful tool

the dealer tool will access far more
Customer
It's very intermittent though is this a component that would fail permanently or is it a part that could fail intermittently

Intermittently
Customer
Is this part and the modified loom easily available ?
