Peugeot 208 digital speed display not working

Car: Peugeot 208
Model Year: 2012
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
Hi all,
The digital speed display screen that's in between the rev counter and speed dial (in front of steering wheel), has suddenly stopped working - no light/life - just blank.
Has anyone else experienced this?

I've bookedit into Peugeot as my local garage think it's a dash fault which is quite common. It's literally just ended it's warranty (which is rubbish!) but im pretty sure I shouldn't be forking out for this if it's a manufacture issue.

Opinions welcome!

Not just a bulb gone ? You would think if just out of warranty and car has been serviced as per schedule with dealership they would repair f.o.c as a company gesture .I did , many times under those circumstances and submitted an abnormal warranty claim .
