Peugeot 207 rear/ tail lights not working

Car: Peugeot 207
Model Year: 2006
Categories: Leaks & Noises
My rear/ tail lights are not working. I have checked the bulbs, which are fine. As both lights went simultaneously I assumed it was the fuse, however my hand book does not identify a specific fuse for these lights and instead hints at the 'maxi fuse' which must be fixed by a peugeot dealer. Before I pay a mechanic, can anyone confirm whether it is likely to be the maxi fuse and if so, does it really need to go to a peugeot dealer?

thanks in advance

This may sounds strange, but hit the car near the lights and see if they come back on!
I had a similar problem and i found that if i just hit the bodywork near to the lights they came back on because of a faulty connection. It still happens on occasion but the initial hit i gave it sorted it!
