Peugeot 207 warning light faulty gearbox

When putting into drive the brake pedal was hard to press down and gearstick was jerky. Then when I was driving warning light came on faulty gearbox stop.their is two buttons next to gearstick S for sport and one for ice the two of them were flashing on instument panel.stopped car turned key on and off a few times this seemed to stop flashing.been driving for two days no problems so far. The gearbox does not require any maintenance
