Peugeot 207 couch and brake pedal

When reversing and press pedal to stop the pedal is very soft and goes down to the floor.(not all the time )I can still put into drive.and have no problem going forward and stopping

Check brake fluid level . Check for any visible signs of leaks .Check brake servo for leaks .Try bleeding brakes . May be a faulty master cyl .
