Peugeot 207 management light on

Car: Peugeot 207
Variant: Petrol GT Turbo
Model Year: 2007
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
Management light on and info.screen displays message "De-pollution system faulty". Car runs fine. You can turn the light off with a diagnostic tool but it comes on again in a few weeks. Peugeot dealer says car has a stretched timing chain (car has covered 50,000 miles). Will this cure the problem?

They do suffer from timing chains but would have thought if it was that bad you would have suffered drop off in performance . Has the car had new plugs fitted ? if not worth trying and getting timing reset if needed .

depends on how much chain has stretched as to whether a new one is required or not. Can normally get away with a new tensioner and reset the cams and its a good idea to have software updated. If new plugs are fitted they will need to be learnt but at that mileage i would imagine they have been replaced already.
