Peugeot 207 power steering fault

Car: Peugeot 207
Variant: SE Premium
Model Year: 2007
Categories: Steering, Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres
Power steering light has been on for about 3 weeks although power steering seems fine. Diagnostics states it's faulty but can't tell why. Main dealer recommends whole new rack & power steering ECU at cost of £1,818. It's only done 16,000 miles (but is 5 years old so out of warranty). Any advice? Thank you

Get a second opinion from a good independant dealer

if you purchased the car new it may be worth contacting customer care. Unfortunately as far as i am aware the ecu comes with the rack! Breakers yard may be an option but be careful!

Thanks for your replies, I've contacted a local Peugeot specialist who is going to look into it further.
