Peugeot 207 turbo blowing is this serious

just been informed the turbo is blowing as there is a sooty deposit around the area a mechanic pointed out. he didnt sound too bothered but wife travels a lot miles at silly hours and is worried its going to blow up.can anyone tell me if this is a big job not mechanically minded frank spencer of the car repair world please help

it generally just requires a new clamp and resealing. it is a fiddly job due to the heat shield fitted so it requires removal of the front bumper and radiator panel.hopefully a blocked particulate filter isnt the cause as this can also be the problem

THANKS paulieone very helpfull but is it costly repair cos car still under JCT600 warranty or does this not cover

I would take it back to jct it should be covered by the warrenty

Just wanted to say thanks rizzo for your input on the turbo blowing could be under warranty will wait till they try to sting me for a big job
