Peugeot 206 abs ccu

Car: Peugeot 206
Variant: 1.4 SW Diesel Verve
Model Year: 2005
Categories: Leaks & Noises
SEVERAL LIGHTS STARTED FLASHING ON THE DASHBOARD INCLUDING THE STOP SIGN AND THE SPEEDO WOULD NOT WORK.
WE TOOK IT TO OUR SMALL INDEPENDENT LOCAL GARAGE WHO COULD NOT LINK IT UP WITH THEIR LAPTOP PROGRAM.
WE THEN TOOK IT TO OUR MAIN PEUGEOT DEALER WHO SAID THAT FOR 65 POUNDS THEY WOULD LOOK AT IT WHICH WE PAID.

THEY TOLD US THAT IT WAS A PROBLEM NEEDING AN ABS CCU AND HAVE QUOTED 638 POUNDS INCLUDING LABOUR TO FIT.

DOES THIS SEEM CORRECT PLEASE.

THE CAR HAS ALSO DONE VERY FEW MILES

THANK YOU

possibly... its possible that on this model the speedo is run from the ABS sensors on the road wheels. i would have the sensors checked individually first by a reputable garage or vehicle electrician to make sure they are good and the respective wiring. only then could you point directly at the ABS control unit.

see if you can get fault codes as there are a few that specifically point to ecu faults.
