Peugeot 206 gear change problem after new clutch

Car: Peugeot 206
Variant: 1.4 petriol, manual
Model Year: 2001
Categories: Steering, Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres
Just had a new clutch assy & cable fitted to my 206 by a local garage(only changed it because the thrust bearing was making a noise).
Thrust noise has disapeared but now gearbox crunches & crashes when changing into third gear, and I can only get 2nd gear by driving slowly. All other gear changes feel very notchy.
The gearbox was changing perfectly before the new clutch was fitted, unfortunately the garage say they did their job of fitting the new clutch and the gear change problem is nothing to do with them!
Obviously they have done somthing wrong so has anybody got any idea what it could be?
I have had it suggested that they might have assembled the clutch plate the wrong way round.
Any help would be appreciated as my only other option is taking it to a main dealer, which I think would mean big money!

it may be a possibility but i wonder whether there is a problem with the cable.I would hope that the box was refilled with oil!!

i suspect they knocked the gear linkages or damaged them on removal of the box... simple seu-up. easily done
