Peugeot 206 side lights come on with indicator?

Car: Peugeot 206
Variant: 2.0 HDI
Model Year: 2002
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
Now and again, not ever time but quite alot (say 80% of the time? ) when i am driving along and indicate to overtake (when its daytime so none of my lights are on ) i notice my side lights come on and occasionally the head lights, although only noticed this about twice. by slightly moving the light stalk the side lights will go off, or if i leave it then will turn off again on there own accord. any ideas? as it can be quite dangerous if people think i am flashing them to come out of a turn etc.

thanks

I have had the same problem for quite sometime now. I was just wondering if you could let me know if you find a solution. I went and flipped about a guy driving across a junction in front of me and me having slammed on to avoid him. Now I'm beginning to think my car may have flashed out the vehicle. Its happened to me for the past year now, but I haven't started back driving till recently put my car through MOT and fixed it all up after not being used for a couple of month... and I find this light problem is being more persistent than ever. Did your headlights flash when signalling by any chance? I was at a junction signalling when I noticed in the back of the car in front that my headlights were flashing. To turn off the lights all I would need to do is turn the lights switch slightly.

Also I think the guys above may be right cause my signals also cancel itself before making any kind of turn. I guess what I'm asking is if you could let me know if you resolved the problem by what the guys above suggested. Thanks.
