when i use the key to open driver or passenger door it unlocks all doors as normal but when i use the key fob, the drivers door wont unlock and makes a noise like it is trying to unlock but doesnt. is this an electric problem or a key fob problem or something else?

Could be faulty door lock solenoid / actuator .Might be worthwhile pulling off door trim and checking out wiring etc.Sometimes a spray of WD40 works wonders if it is just sticking .

Thanks for the advice, i will check that in the morning.

Update. Today my central locking has gone crazy. I have been driving as normal and my central locking started to activate itself while i have been driving. It has done this loads of times today while i have been driving. It is really annoying as you can imagine. Would this be linked with the wiring? I am guessing it would be.
