Peugeot 206 4th gear

My peugeot 206 seems to engage into 4th gear but no drive occurs all other gears are fine. any ideas could it nbe a linkage issue?

does it go into all the gears?if it only goes into 4th gear i would suspect linkage or gearbox fault.also check the clutch system is operating correctly

You say all gears are o.k but only in 4th no drive . Is car a manual or auto box ?

Yes the car is a manual 5 gearbox. The cltch allows all gears to engage as normal. except when the grae has gone into 4th the drive is lost and the revs would scream as if reving out of any gear.

if it drives in all other gears then you prob have a worn or damaged 4th gear,get the box stripped and checked out
