Peugeot 206 does a stiff drive shaft mean its going to seize?

Car: Peugeot 206
Variant: 1.6
Model Year: 2002
Categories: Gearbox & Clutch
My car is presently in the garage having to have a new clutch. While in there i've been told it also needs a new hydraulic sleeve. Now, i've been told that the drive shaft is really stiff and so the job is going to take an extra day as they dont want to just yank it out and cause any damage. (this is at no extra cost as i've already been quoted a price) BUT if it's stiff does this mean that its going to seize at some point? This job is already costing me £400 and I don't want to ask my mechanic in case he takes full advantage of my ignorance in all things car related.

To me just means hard to get off ,just not coming away easily, some just fly out some grab hold, done loads if I was doing it and said it was stiff coming off it would not mean I think you have to have a new one,But saying that when your working on cars you come upon unforeseen problems that are no ones fault and sometimes you dont no its broke until you take it of for a closer look, hope you under stand me not trying to confuse you (I hope ) good luck, some one else might give you a better answer
