Peugeot 206 boot lock not opening

Car: Peugeot 206
Variant: 2.0L HDI LX 5 Door
Model Year: 2001

The handle underneath to open the hatch door goes kinda stiff after unlocking with the key fob (central locking) and won't un latch as normal. It's been in a compound after a front end bump and came back with rear windscreen smashed and this problem with the lock. If I climb in from the inside how can I release to open the hatch?

Dont know about that particular car but usually some slot or release lever at lock assembly . If not , need to pull trim and check lock mechanism . actuator for fault or possible water ingress
