Car: Peugeot 206
Model Year: 1999
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
My speeedo goes up and keeps going til it goes off the dial and when i stop it drops back down to 110mph. If i turn the engine on/off a number of times it goes back to 0, but does go up again if i accelorate hard. I have been told i need a new speedo pood/dash part as this is wots broken, the rev counter is still working...does this model not have a cable??? Do you think this does need such an exspensive part and if so wot do i need. Any help with this would be fantastic thank you

this model is electronic so its all done via sensors not cable have you tried any peugeot breakers on the net or in your area who can help regarding getting hold of a replacement part

I had a simalar problem with one of these, i managed to get a second hand one (from a well known auction site!!) make sure you get the right plug combiation on the back, there are 2 types, better to get your old one out to compare it with, car will still run ok with out it, its easy to get out just a few screws and a couple of electrical plugs.
