Peugeot 206 front seat will not slide

This is the 3rd 206 that I have owned that has had the same problem. I piece of toothed metal appears at the back of the seat and the seat will not longer slide.

Guessing the seat will have to come out and the runner re welded,
sounds like the spot welds have come adrift.

It sounds like the little sprung sliding lock has come past its stop.They can sometimes be teased back into the runner as long as the small piece of sprung steel hasn't broken or come off
