Peugeot 206 indicators stopping mid sequence and lights dropping to side lights at same time

Car: Peugeot 206
Variant: 1.6 cc
Model Year: 2004
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
after having my steering rack replaced my electrics seem to have gone haywire intermittently. Doesn't happen every time but on pressing the fob to open car the alarm light flashes giving off a continuous beeping noise then on starting car the indicator stops after 2 sequences and the headlights drop to side lights at same time. Is this a battery fault or a loose wire as these things all happen at the same time? Only happens now and again and for no obvious reason. On moving the indicator stem to neutral and putting on indicator again it can all of a sudden rectify the problem ..until the next time.

Get a global scan done on the body systems interface unit for stored faults.

Can any garage do this and is it expensive?

To add to above , longshot but check earth cable from eng / gearbox to engine is o.k

Any garage equipped With Peugeot Planet diagnostics or top level scan tool.
Not the kind of scan that cheaper scan tools can read.
Or the main dealer of course.
doesn't mean they get any work.
But if you get the Dealer scan done get a fault code print out.
