Peugeot 206 wont start, after replacing clutch

Car: Peugeot 206
Model Year: 2001
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
I have replaced the clutch, However at the same time as me doing this, my wife kindly washed the key in my jeans in the washing machine.
Wash was stopped as soon as she realized. i have put key in bowl of rice to dry out for 3 days.
The central locking works fine, however when i try to start the car all dash lights come on but dosnt turn over engine, and i don't think it is trying to, as if i have the lights on they dont dim when i turn key to start.
Battery charge warning light is dim ,but im sure the baterry is ok. Any help appreciated...

Central locking working means the key most likely fine,
well as long as the little key symbol on the dash goes off.
As to the starting sorry but it sounds like you screwed up and didn't refit the earth strap.
simple test is run the black jump lead from battery negative and the other end onto gearbox metal and see if it NOW spins over..
You'd get the same fault if the big cable to the starter has a bad connection.
Either way it sounds like you made a mistake.
