RE: Peugeot 206 2001 1.9 D Rev Counter NOT Working
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi all
After a long day today I've spent many of hours on this 206 I have now found out the fault!
There are 2 types of crank sensors for these Peugeot 206 diesels
There's one for the top of gearbox bell housing that pick up of the fly wheel ring gear or there one fitted at the back of engine above drive shaft that picks up of the back of fly wheel as what was on this 206 but I did notice on top of the gearbox theres a hole for the other type of crank sensor so this got me thinking so I look through all the receipts and found out that it had a new clutch and fly wheel last year!
So this got me thinking even more so I phoned a few parts places and they said there 2 types of fly wheels listed one for crank sensor on top of gearbox or one for the crank sensor at back of fly wheel!
So I I thought maybe some dum ass fitted wrong fly wheel!
so I got a new crank sensor for the top of gearbox bell housing and fitted it and modified the plug to fit loom and bobs your uncle it worked a fully working rev counter
