Peugeot 206 stereo not working

the blaupunkt niv-2 stereo in peugeot the problem is the on button illuminates but noyhing else comes on i changed the stereo for another same model same problem on button illuminates but nothing else comes on the changer seems to operate but on the dash says stereo out cdc out can someone help please
