Peugeot 206 broken subframe bolt

Car: Peugeot 206
Variant: 1.4 sw
Model Year: 2004
Categories: Steering, Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres
recently aquired a pug 206 estate as a wee runabout but so far its cost me a fortune. as soon as i drove it i knew i had a problem because the car veered from side to side under acceleration. on closer inspection the power steering seals had gone so a new steering rack was required but in order to fit it the car the subframe needed to come off.

there lies my new problem, when removing the subframe, the bolt to the rar of the subframe sheared off, i have tried burning it, and eventualy drilling through it but all i appear to be doing is breaking drill bits.

i am wondering if anyone knows whether it would be safe to take an angle grinder and simply cut the locator off the underside of the car, i doubt that the subframe will move when it is rebolted to the car bt genuinly cant see any other way of doing it?

Car could fail an MOT if it is spotted that there is a bolt missing from the sub frame. Really need to try and find another way of removing the bolt...

Hi, sorry I should have been more specific, my intention is to grind off the locator on the chassis leg where the bolt has welded itself into, knock the rest of it free and replace the bolt with a new one, my only concern is can the subfrane move if the locator is no longer there

If the locator is not there then you may have problems with alignment on the car.
