Peugeot 206 car wont change to top gear

Hello the 206 had no problems at all 'but had a full service and auto fluid changed as well,the car starts ok pulls of ok then a gear change then it wants to change up but it cant,the rev's go up to 6000 and it still wont change,the mechanic says nothing to do with his work ??? how can I check if enough transmission fluid in as there is no dip stick,thanks tony

Have you checked to see if sports mode has been activated by accident...

yes checked the sport and the snow,took it up to 60 miles an hour but would not change gear,and just under 7000 rev's it was ok before the transmission fluid change,sat in the car with foot on the brake going into all the drives and back,but still wont make any difference.I can only think of not enough auto fluid ???

you have to check the level when it is at 60 degrees c then by having vehicle in the air and removing the centre from the drain bung and waiting till the fluid stops pouring out.
