It's a common fault on Citroen C1, Peugeot 107, 108 & Toyota Aygo . Here is an example of another with same fault
Update.... I've just had a call from my local Citroen dealer who had got into Citroen customer care (as they hadn't heard from them as expected by today), they've just confirmed that although my car is more than 5 years old they are prepared to pay for the whole repair. I can't quite believe it.....
My car was first registered on 21/3/2015
I had made it clear that I was aware this was a wider issue. Might be worthwhile taking yours along to your local dealer as I did (the diagnostic check was £60 but I don't believe I'm being charged for that either - but even if I am it would have been worthwhile)
Hi - I'm pleased to say that I got my C1 back from Citroen yesterday all fixed courtesy of Citroen Customer care. All lights off and have remained so so far ... I asked if the local dealership if they had had to push customer care to accept responsibility and apparently they had not. Citroen customer care had agreed to the fix without them having to persuade them.
So I would suggest that if anyone has this type of problem they do as I did. Take it to their citron dealership and ask them to run diagnostics (this was going to cost £62 but this has also been paid for by customer care in the circumstances). I was originally told by the dealership the cost for repaid would be £1900 ish as it needed a new ECU and a modified oxygen sensor. They advised me to call Citroen customer care to see if they'd pay for some or all of it. You then get a reference number from the customer care place which you can give to the main dealer to chase after a few days if they haven't heard. That's how it worked for me. Good luck
