put car in for mot, which it past, i drove the car away, i could here a noise that sounded like a wheel bearing, had it looked at turned out to be rear brakes binding, is it unusual for both calipers to seize at the same time or could there be a problem with the brake line?

make sure the brakes not been over adjusted, the handbrake should click around 4 clicks, if it clicks less than that it is possibly been over adjusted and needs to be slackened, as regards to both calipers seizing simultaneously, it is very unlikely but possible.
