Peugeot 107 boot lock not working

Car: Peugeot 107
Variant: 998cc
Model Year: 2005
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
I have owned my little car for just over a week and have noticed this morning, that although my central locking does work fine my boot doesn't lock at all. It shuts ok but can be opened when the boot buton is pressed even if the car is locked! Any suggestions as to why this is happening? Any help would be great thanks :)

Sounds like a faulty lock solenoid (an electromagnetic actuator that locks the door)

I had a problem like this with my Rover 25. Believe it or not the problem was grease that had hardened and was making the boot catch stick. I used wd40 and that fixed it.
