Peugeot 106 knocking when turning (i don't think its the cv joints)

Car: Peugeot 106
Variant: 1.5 XND
Model Year: 1996
Categories: Steering, Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres
AS above,

When turning the car left of right there is a lound knocking noise. I don't think this is down to CV joints as the noise does not occur when going round a corner with the clutch down. Not too sure what this could be?

very simple job,the problem you have is a worn bottom ball joint,it is better to change the complete lower arm which is fairly simple,if you jack the car up so the wheel is of the ground you will find that top to bottom of the wheel can be moved, definately the problem,i have replaced loads of them, its a common fault on pugs, hope this has helped you.
