i understand from manual that crank angle censor is in distributer cheers dave

You will probably know more about that car than I do .Certainly on some models that was the case, for instance ,
" change for the Z24i was the addition of an optical crank angle sensor in the distributor rather than a vacuum advance and ignition module. This allowed for more precise engine management for the fuel injection system. "

not 100% sure of the set up on this car but have you checked ignition coil supplies and earth, does it have a seperate coil or is everything in the distributor,does it have a rotor arm that might have failed and have you checked every fuse in the car and also under the bonnet?

i have been told that problem may be immobiliser which is located on the ignition barrel i have no fob only 2 keys which i understand have a chip in has anyone had similar problems
