Nissan Patrol revs drop off at low speed.

When idling in neutral the revs rise and fall without touching the accel pedal. At low speed when moving (below around 1000 rpm in low gear) the revs will suddenly drop, causing a stall. To counteract this I have to drive slipping the clutch to keep revs above 1000 rpm. Fuel tank/lines/filter have been cleaned. Any ideas?

thw diesels are a little more complicated than a petrol car the one and only thing i will suggest is you take the nissan to a diesel specialist who will give it the once over and tell you whats wrong and how much to sort the nissan out

I have had similar problems on these before and have had to replace the injection pump speed sensor
