Nissan Micra dashbord light

Car: Nissan Micra
Variant: 1.2
Model Year: 2005
Categories: Steering, Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres
THE DASHBORD AFTER FIVE MINUTES OF STARTUP CONSTANTLY SHOWS A RED CAR WITH A KEY IN IT.

THE POWER STEERING COLUMN WAS REPLACED A WEEK AGO AND THIS PROBLEM HAS ONLY SHOWN UP SINCE THE REPLACEMENT.

Take it back to the garage that fitted column and get them to check diagnostics.
Sounds like the immobiliser is not being read or accepted by the transponder, so how is your car running?
The key reader may have a fault or may need to be recoded due to battery being disconnected. You might have to see a Main Dealer for this.

Pretty obvious that the fault has been intoduced by the replacing of the steering column .Take it back under warranty for fixing though you should have reported it immediately rather than wait for a week .
