Nissan Micra cambelt

Car: Nissan Micra
Variant: 1.5s diesel dci
Model Year: 2004
Categories: Steering, Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres
I am considering buying the above vehicle. it has done just over 40000 miles. When will the 'belt' (or is it a chain) require replacement as I don't believe its been done. It may be pulling to the left very slightly, is this possibly costly to put right please.

If it is only very slightly pulling to the left, it is most probably the camber of the road. If thats not the case it would be likely to be a difference in tyre pressures or the track rod ends are slightly out of adjustment. As for the cam belt, it would be a bonus to get it done as part of the deal but on a modern diesel it would probably last for around 70-80k before it needs changing.
