Nissan Elgrand gearbox issue?

My e51 has no power and instantly revs around 2000 rpm when I touch the accelerator. It will not achieve cruising speed and is struggling to go up hill. Just no power and it’s consuming much more fuel. Before the engine was quiet, no it sounds like I am thrashing it just to achieve 40 mph.

List of possible causes is endless , rather than guess , get it scanned for fault codes

Transmission has a fault. It goes into 3rd gear only for drive. Is reverse normal?

4month old post . Car needs scanning for fault codes rather than wasting time and money guessing if not already fixed . ONLY way it will be fixed .
