You have serious engine problems that will need a visit to a garage for diagnosing .

Possibly auto transmission had gone into limp home mode. It selects 3rd gear only, so it feels like the vehicle has no drive .4000rpm and hardly moving forward.
Is reverse grear normal when it is not working in drive properly?
